Napa cab-loving Invino-ers, we’ve got you. You’re people after our own heart, who enjoy the occasional indulgence of a lush, three-dimensional-fruit Napa cabernet that’s so filling it feels like a full meal. And that’s what we have for you today.

This is a Mt. Veeder beauty that we saved just for you. It is part of the Jackson Family Wines’ exclusive portfolio, the Spire Collection. The grapes come from nearly 2700 ft in elevation, above the fog line where the sun bathes the grapes in ripening heat, while the breezes at elevation drenches them in the acid-retaining air. Chris Carpenter, the eno-wizard behind many of Jackson Family’s brands, wields the magic sword over Mt. Brave, making a near-mythical wine that pleases nearly every part of the palate.

You may not know that Mt. Veeder happens to be the largest AVA in Napa, covering 15,000 acres and 25 square miles, but in acreage, it is only 1000 acres. What used to be an ancient seabed, with some slopes totaling 30 degrees, Mt. Veeder fruit can be considered a delicacy, with meticulous attention to detail paid to create great wines, like this one.

Because we know your tastes, we know you’ll love the bold, luscious flavors that abound in this wine. There’s black cherry with some Asian spices and blueberry with fine-grained tannins and a thick acid thread that tells you that it can age forever. We think you’re thirsty now, though, and will want to drink this immediately. We won’t blame you. It’s delightful to drink now and gives the youthful edge you’ll love, but a maturity that goes beyond its years. It’s the perfect wine. Enjoy it. We have. And we’re still dreaming about it.

About the Producer

The Mt. Brave Vineyard, once the Chateau Potelle Vineyard, was established decades ago at elevations ranging from 1,400 to 1,800 feet. Crafted by winemaker Chris Carpenter who knows Mt. Veeder well, these are expressive terroir driven wines that offer tremendous quality relative to their price.

97 Decanter -
Showcasing the lovely freshness of high-elevation Mt Veeder grapes. Vivid boysenberry and mulberry fruits give way to mountain herbs, dusty minerals and rich toasty cedar. A compact wine revealing black-fruited flavours and savoury herbal nuances alongside sculpted tannins that are pixelated and mouthcoating. An impressively long finish of iron shavings, baked agave and dried chaparral.
