SPECIAL: Ground shipping included on orders of 3 bottles or more!

This outrageously satisfying Cab is “dipped in chocolaty decadence” per Decanter’s 95 point review. And, it’s from the 2023 harvest, which critic Karen MacNeil calls “as perfect as any Napa vintage in living memory.” What more do you need to know? Ah – 60% off and shipping included on THREE or more!

“Kind of Noir gives you all the power, all the depth, and all the Napa magic you expect, without the sky-high price tag,” says founder-winemaker Greg Martellotto. Amen, yes it does! We love that Greg is bound and determined to offer Napa luxury for well under the usual $150+. And quite pleased we’re able to do even better: $37.95 per bottle instead of $95! Stellar price, stellar wine. Jonathan, take it away…

“From Greg Martellotto comes this utterly seductive, lavishly layered Cabernet, opulently scented and framed by smoky, toasty French oak nuances that highlight rich, velvety blueberry fruit. Full-bodied, the tannins soar across the palate, dipped in chocolaty decadence, while crushed espresso beans fuel the lavish finish. A potpourri of violets and blue floral notes adds intrigue. This is a hedonistic wine best enjoyed now and over the next five to seven years.” – 95 points, Jonathan Cristaldi for Decanter

Despite its youth, this multi-vineyard powerhouse is ready to pop open and thrill everyone who likes a big, deft dose of toasty oak and bold, black fruit. Dusty tannins and poised acid round out the mocha-berry explosion, and a Syrah-like smoked meat note keeps building the seduction. The structure is great, the Napa richness is all there. You cannot have too many 2023s in your collection, and the piping-fresh 95 point score and 60% savings make this one a must.

About the Producer

Martellotto Winery was founded by Greg Martellotto in 2005. The label focuses on Bordeaux varietals sourced from Happy Canyon in Santa Barbara, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Sta. Rita Hills, and – when a great opportunity arises – Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley.

Greg has casual family roots in wine, but took a circuitous path to making it his profession. His grandfather emigrated from Italy and made wine in a Bronx basement during Prohibition, and home winemaking became something of a family tradition. But Greg’s focus was naturally elsewhere. From childhood through college, he was a serious soccer player, and went to Stanford on a sports scholarship. While studying biology with the intention of going to medical school, he franchised a house painting company in Palo Alto. After graduation, pro soccer dreams behind him, he went on to earn a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Texas. Pivoting to wine, he immersed himself in – and continues to work in – all three tiers: production, wholesale, and restaurants. Greg tastes about 4,000 wines per year, so his philosophy is firm: “I would rather have a wine that represents a vintage and shows variety, than a wine that is uniform, bland or painted by numbers. Wine is art and science, romantic and intimate.”
