Classic cab lovers…batter up! We’ve got an incredible one for you today from Sonoma’s Dry Creek Valley for 60% OFF! If you like the power and boldness of a Napa cabernet, you’ll want to give Sonoma cabs a try. Our honest (and always humble) opinion? This 2019 Collide Cabernet Sauvignon goes down smoother than many of the $50 to $75-plus bottles that hail out of Napa. (We promise we still love you, Napa cabs, but there’s room for more California cab love in our hearts!)

With a closer vicinity to the cooler climate of the coast, this Dry Creek cab has a bit brighter acidity than cabs from the county’s sister to its east. Thirteen miles of land wedged between two mountain ranges with Lake Sonoma at its northernmost border and the Russian River at its southernmost, Dry Creek Valley’s long, warm days allow the fruit to expand and ripen while the cool, lightly foggy nights help the grapes to mature more slowly and retain their balance.

As for the unbelievable 2019 vintage, it’s one we’d open for dinner tonight, for our next special occasion, and for years to come. On the nose, you’ll catch the lovely bouquet of violets, peonies, baked plum, and cherry pie, with an assortment of black and blue fruits, vanilla, mocha, and a hint of cherry liqueur on the mouth…let’s just say this one feels like a big, warm hug after a long day. One major puzzle piece that brings this stunner to life is the winemaker behind it: Jon Keyes. You know…the guy with Sine Qua Non, Barossa’s big-hitter Two Hands, and Thomas Rivers Brown’s Outpost on his resume? Casual. In other words, he knows a thing or two about how to make a modern and total-crowd-pleaser of a cabernet. It’s got all of the parts of bold cabs that you love – without the overblown tannins that can often take over. Get a few to hold on to for later, or pop ‘em open now for your next grilled steak dinner. Either way, you won’t be disappointed by this silky and insanely smooth Sonoma cab for well under $30!
