This fantastic Coombsville cabernet sauvignon – in the now legendary 2018 Napa Valley vintage – is a spectacular offering from a new Napa project with deep roots in the valley.  Under $50 for a wine of this pedigree is a steal – and you won’t find this anywhere near this price anywhere else!

Philip Holbrook and Wil Prim – long-time Napa natives – are the gents behind Revik. Their focus is on single-vineyard wines, and microscopic productions...such as the 250 cases of this wine. Philip Holbrook is the grandson of Margrit Mondavi – Robert Mondavi’s wife – and she also helped to design these exceptional labels for the Revik brand. The name stems from two old English words – ‘revel’ and ‘vik’ which translates to ‘time’ and ‘place’. Rather fitting for their style and winemaking approach – these are wines that are minimally manipulated, and they express the season and the space from whence they come brilliantly.

This 100% Coombsville cabernet sauvignon is organically farmed on the SAPHI Vineyard that Phillip planted back in 2013. The name comes from a combination of his and his sister, Sasha’s first names, as they grew up on this property. The site is classic Coombsville – cool micro-climate, gravelly and volcanic loam soils, and a long growing season. The aromas are cool, mineral, and floral – violets and lilacs, spearmint, crushed rocks, and sage. In the mouth, an explosion of bramble berries – blackberries, raspberries, and black currants, with accents of black cherry, olive tapenade, and luscious dark chocolate ganache. The wine is rich and voluptuous, with soft and silky tannins, and a long, extended finish. Spectacular now, but perhaps even better over the next several years…and simply a steal at Invino’s amazing price!
