Moon Mountain's Montecillo vineyard, which is home to the oldest cabernet vines in Sonoma County, was planted in 1964 by Chuy Ordaz, the proprietor of the winery. This is some seriously sought-after fruit, used to make top-quality cabernets from producers like Turley, Arnot-Roberts, DuMOL, and others! 50% off retail makes this one of the best steals anywhere on Sonoma cabernet!

91 points! Deliciously classic and drinking perfectly TODAY – juicy cherries and raspberries, silky chocolate shavings, lavender, graphite – an all-in-all sumptuous wine that we just flipped over. From hand-selected parcels of the old vine and dry-farmed (no irrigation!) cabernet high on Moon Mountain in the famed Montecillo Vineyard at 1,800 ft. elevation, this site produces some of the most distinctive and sought-after cabernet in the state. Ponder for a moment that Montecillo cabernet from Arnot-Roberts and DuMOL sell for well over $100 a bottle, and you'll realize what an incredible offer we have for you today! Clove and red earth, sweet herbs and minerals all playing together, too – a wine to drink with just about anything deliciously savory and thoroughly pleasing from the very first sip.

We have only about 15 cases...for a perfectly aged, ideal drinking cabernet from one of the most spectacular vineyards in California. While it lasts, of course!

About the Producer

Chuy Ordaz has always been a grape grower. He has sold to many famous producers, such as DuMOL, Failla, Neyers, and Bedrock. He taught his sons to make wine in their garage, with the hope that one would take the hobby to the next level. When he launched Ordaz Family Wines in 2009, he hired a winemaker, but in 2013, his son Eppie (the first Ordaz to graduate from college, obtaining an accounting degree) took over. The wines are on a wild hot streak and better than ever!

91 Wine Enthusiast -
Crayon wax, plum and dark cherry mingle against a medium-bodied, moderately oaked and well-made mountain wine from the famous site in this new appellation. Sinewy texture is boosted by high-toned acidity and earthy freshness that allows room for white and black pepper to linger.
