SPECIAL: GROUND SHIPPING INCLUDED ON ORDERS OF 3 BOTTLES OR MORE!

Cascina Luisin is a small, cherished family producer who’s made exceptional Barbaresco in Piemonte for decades which we just love! Anyone who knows and loves Barbaresco (that’s me!) will tell you that Rabaja is one of the region’s best sites. This 92 point nebbiolo from that hallowed ground is a winner — especially at over 50% off!

Luisin was founded in 1913 and owns small parcels in some of Piemonte’s top vineyards, including Asili and Rabajà. Founded by Luigi Minuto (‘Luisin’ means ‘small Luigi’ in the local dialect), it was a wonderful day when we discovered them and started bringing some into the USA. The wines are just scintillating year after year and we can’t say enough great things about them and their wines.

2017 was forward and ripe, and in a good way here, it produced a flashy and open wine that doesn't need a decade in your cellar to shine. The cherries! Rose petals, hibiscus, and lavender! It just pulls you in…with this wistful bouquet of flowers and then things get SERIOUS! The strawberries! Then licorice nibs, orange pekoe tea, a whiff of vanilla-tinged oak, some fresh off-the-tree candy-striped figs, and tangy red fruits. Long and lingering, with intense, mouth-coating structure, and powerful yet silky tannins.

Rabaja is arguably the greatest Barbaresco vineyard (and certainly the most expensive – a bottle of Giacosa Riserva from the same vineyard will set you back about $1000), and today, we are absolutely steamrolled to have this at OVER 50% OFF (and nowhere near 1k, either!). Cascina Luisin’s Rabaja 2017 is all about POWER, plus that heavenly aroma… in such a silky, weightless, finesse-filled frame…simply magical. 92 points! This is guaranteed to impress…don’t miss out!

About the Producer

Cascina Lusin was founded in 1913 by Luigi Minuto, great-grandfather of the current owner Roberto Minuto. The wine estate has always been owned and run by the family, with the aim of guaranteeing meticulous control over all stages of winemaking: from accurate and rigorous care of the vineyards and attentive work in the cellar, to marketing and public relation duties.

Cascina Luisin is situated in the Rabaja area in the territory of Barbaresco, one of the epicenters of Langhe's winemaking. The winery cultivates 8 hectares of vineyards and produces an average of 30,000 bottles yearly. Cascina Luisin concentrates on the four classic grape varieties Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Arneis. The company's business philosophy is firmly based on special care for a sound viticulture and on great respect for tradition regarding technique of vinification. This is the secret which allows each single vineyard to express its unique and undisputed qualities.

92 Wine Spectator -
This red is high strung, with floral, strawberry, currant and earth notes drawn tight against the vivid acidity and assertive tannins. The fruit flavors tend to the macerated side, while it finishes fresh and long. Best from 2023 through 2036.
91 James Suckling -
Aromas of dried fruit and flowers, figs, mushrooms and baking spices. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm, tight tannins. Structured, with crisp acidity and a chalky texture to the palate. Drink from 2023.
