Tenuta Carretta Barolo Cannubi 2015
Nebbiolo | Italy
We’re HUGE fans of Tenuta Carretta – importing them directly (and passing the savings on to you!) for years now. One of the most historic properties in all of Piedmont and making the best wines of their over 550-year history RIGHT NOW! 52% OFF for Barolo from the revered Cannubi Cru? Unheard of!!!
To put things in perspective, Tenuta Carretta was granted sharecropping rights in Piemonte before the discovery of the “New World''. Cannubi is the "venerated old man" of La Morra, the most respected elder among Barolo vineyards, and thanks to the vines’ exposure to sun and to this particular microclimate, nebbiolo’s grand elegance, nuanced character, and unmatched longevity shine in this gorgeous wine.
The style here is long-lived, intense, and perfumey with roses and violets, dried cherry, and a deep, long, spicy, complex, structured, and multi-layered finish. Masculine tannins make this a great candidate for long aging if you are so inclined, and yet, the nearly eight years that have already passed since harvest make this a tempting morsel ready to go at a moment's notice. This is a serious wine and an incomparable value for Barolo. With FREE SHIPPING on 3 or more bottles – that’s a $135 delivered to your door! Oh, yeah! Get a handful of this or more...you’ll thank us later!
About the Producer
Tenuta Carretta is located in the south of Piedmont, in Piobesi d’Alba, in Roero. It is a winery with a rich story -- one of the most historic Italian wineries where past, present and future are integrated in the best way. Granted sharecropping rights in 1470 (!), it now is owned by the Miroglio family of Alba.
