Etude, of course, is a much-loved pinot noir-focused label (since 1982!) from the brilliant Tony Soter, a man whose winemaking legacy in Napa, Sonoma, and Oregon is renowned. As a winemaker, Tony always had a fascination with pinot noir, even while he was making world-class Cabernet at the likes of Stags Leap Wine Cellars, Dalla Valle, Araujo, Shafer and many more. The signature of North Canyon Pinot Noir is a noticeably darker red fruit tone, and this vintage is no exception, packed with silky cola, truffle, smoke and raspberry/cherry fruit.
