A week ago, we introduced you to Adelaide Thomas, a tiny Sonoma project focused on organically farmed fruit and low-intervention winemaking. Their Sauvignon Blanc just arrived at the warehouse, and the timing could not be better  – this is exactly what we want on a hot day. It’s from a hilltop Russian River vineyard, and fermented in stainless to keep that electric freshness intact. This was made with care, so $38 direct from the winery is a fair price, but we’re going 78% below that.

The nose is classic high-energy Sauv Blanc: grapefruit, a dab of ripe mango, spicy basil, and that intense citrus pith that makes your mouth water. The palate keeps the grapefruit going strong, and adds a pop of green apple and a little gooseberry and mandarin zest. We love the brisk finish and the slight chalkiness on the tongue. For a 2022, it has plenty of verve left. And it’s dry, but with a supple body that pulls you into the summertime flooooow. 

Chill this down and pour it on the porch, at the pool, or maybe just at your dining table with the lights off and your eyes closed listening to Norah Jones sing “Turn Me On.” You only need three for the steep price drop, but this is probably your drink of the summer, so go for $71.70 for six, with delivery included.
