REVIEWS

This delightful wine is a sparkling rose made from 100% Cabernet Franc, with a lovely salmon hue, gentle aromatics and crisp, dry palate—a definite crowd pleaser.  Watermelon, strawberry and yeast on the nose; with peach, honey and lemon on the palate.  Lots of bubbles, clean texture and a bone dry finish, this wine has all the necessary ingredients to accompany any celebratory occasion. -DZ

INSIDE FACT: While Cabernet Franc first earned its popularity in the Loire Valley in the 1700′s, perhaps its greatest claim is due to the fact that it gave birth to Cabernet Sauvignon after it was crossed with Sauvignon Blanc.

Occasions are all the more celebratory when toasting with an elegant, crowd-pleasing beauty like a French sparkling rosé. Amid its moated castles and manicured gardens, the Loire grows grapes that make some of the most elegant bubblies around: refined, versatile, and well priced for opening en masse. In this rare 100% Cabernet Franc, fine beads and floral aromas rise from the Diamant de Loire, a brut rosé direct-imported for being as enchanting as the land it comes from; a perfect wine for a five-course feast, as it'll pair with everything from starters to seafood to steak.

Four reasons we love it:

100% Cabernet Franc. From the beloved grape of Bordeaux St. Emilion--Cab Franc gave birth to Cabernet Sauvignon after it was crossed with Sauvignon Blanc--it's rare to find a pure Cab Franc sparkling without a blend of other varietals. Here from the Loire, it makes for aromatic and complex satisfaction.

Authentic Local Wines. The Loire is France's second-largest sparkling producer after Champagne. Les Caves de la Loire is an association of growers who produce premium wines from the classified appellations, special terroir, and excellent climatic conditions of the Loire Valley.

Shining Example. From calcareous marl soils in the lower Loire’s Anjou region, this wine lives up to its name: literally “the diamond of the Loire.”

Elegant Entertaining. Brimming with refined bubbles, it's perfect as a welcome wine at a white-tablecloth reception, or an elegant, romantic dinner for two.

TASTING NOTES

Crisp and dry, in the bottle it's a pretty salmon hue. Light, floral fragrance with fresh fruit and subtle notes of strawberry. Elegant, crisp taste with peach, honey and citrus. Complex with lots of tiny bubbles.
