"A blend of 50% Syrah from the Northern Rhône with 50% Grenache from the Southern Rhône, the NV Vin de France SM Second Edition is a fascinating wine, combining smoky, peppery, herbal notes with ripe black cherries. Full-bodied, plush and velvety, Vignon allows that it's "more 2016 than 2015" in style, but no matter how you characterize it, it's a lovely, complex wine for drinking over the next 6-7 years."

“A blend of the 2015 and 2016 vintages, the NV Côtes du Rhône S M checks in as the same equal parts Grenache and Syrah raised in tank and barrel. A huge nose of cassis, ground black pepper, garrigue, and olive tapenade gives way to a ripe, rounded, medium to full-bodied effort that has good acidity, building tannin, a seamless, light texture, and a great finish. It's a singular wine that has a big kiss of Northern Rhône Syrah with a touch of the rounded, sexy, opulent style of the south. It's going to drink nicely for a decade.”

Hey, we are as blown away as you! Only 21 cases to sell (we bought the other one)!

Whatever you do, don't miss this one if you love deep, silky, plush reds (think Chateauneuf-du-Pape). The quality to price ratio on this one is pegged deep into the red zone...so much wine for the money!

Xavier Mignon, super-consultant in the Rhone, marches to the beat of his own drum. This unique and incredibly creative wine is...just...KILLER. It is an old vine blend (60+ year old vines) from 50% 2015 Syrah from the Northern Rhone (a vintage Marcel Guigal has called the vintage of a lifetime) and 50% 2016 Grenache from the South (a vintage that will go down as one of the ALL TIME greats in the region). It is a SUPERB, stylish and seamless wine that drinks spectacularly for $22. LOAD UP! This packs in the lush, hedonistic black cherry and briar patch for sure with all the Northern Rhone power and smokiness, along with framboise, anise, red whips and toasted peppercorn. SO GOOD!
