'Very Good' -Wine Enthusiast
This is one fresh and tasty bottle of Burgundy, with classically rich red cherry and spice notes over a vibrant acidity and firm structure. The wine is young and could use a few minutes to open or a couple years in the cellar, the abundant red fruit is bright and zippy, and there’s a solid vein of chalky minerality running through the finish. Enjoy now through 2019. - DZ Nov, 2014
This wine has some tannins that give structure as well as young fruitiness. A definite dry edge comes from the fruit as well as wood aging. The wood also brings out some bitterness that needs to soften. Drink from 2016. —Wine Enthusiast R.V. (6/1/2014)
The Tramier family has been growing grapes and making wine since 1842, and are still being made in the original buildings almost 175 years later. Known to have one of the most exquisite caves in all of Burgundy, Traminer focuses primarily on red and white Bourgogne, with limited amounts of sparkling as well.
Only 1000 cases of Pinot Noir came from the south facing vineyards on 2 acres of prime Mercury terroir on the Chateau Mi-Pont property. Fermented in stainless steel and then aged in oak for nearly a year, where the wine softened just enough to give it velvety tannins, but retain its lively character. With five years of age on it, this wine will continue to age gracefully for another decade.
