".Dark, rich and concentrated witth suave texture and deep plum and berry fruit; toasty, dense and rich; elegant and long"- The Tasting Panel
"Aromas of blackberries, currants and walnuts follow through to a full body, firm tannins and a velvety, lightly austere finish. Well-crafted. Drink now through 2021.." James Sucking
"This is a ripe, 100% varietal wine from the heights of the appellation. Integrated in terms of powerfully rendered tannin and oak, it shows a thick density of rich red currant and berry amid a backdrop of dried herb and sage."- Wine Enthusiast
The 2013 Cabernet from VinRoc is made from fruit out of the estate vineyard in Atlas Peak, and is drinking great despite its young age. I found an approachable wine with ripe black cherry and blackberry and a firm structure that balances nicely with the big fruit notes. The acidity is bright and lasts through to the fine grain tannin on the finish, an all around solid Cab from 100% mountain fruit. Enjoy now through 2022. - DZ Apr 2013

VinRoc is all about microclimates, micro harvests, and micro vinification. This micro-winery is also home to superstar winemaker Michael Parmenter who knows exactly how to coax the most out of his incredible Atlas Peak fruit. Parmenter owns the winery, too, along with partner Kiky Lee, as well as the tiny 5-acre vineyard that’s the source of this awesome and quite limited Cabernet, offered here to Members only at the best price ever.
Four Reasons we love it:
- “2013 was a magical vintage for Napa Valley reds,” writes James Suckling. The Wine Enthusiast scored the 2013 vintage a whopping 95 points or “Superb.”
- VinRoc’s 35-acre estate takes its name from the many massive rocks that dot the vineyards.
- The VinRoc winery is actually located within the estate’s cave, where temperatures are obviously always controlled—by nature!
- Atlas Peak holds the distinction of being Napa’s highest elevation AVA. Most sites within the appellation sit well above the fog belt, which means near the constant sun and intense, powerful fruit that is ripe without missing an ounce of elegance or balance.
Deep red in color the Atlas Peak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon expresses notes of red cherry, currants and licorice on the nose. Robust and full-bodied with supple tannins and dense blackberry fruit. Flavors of mocha, molasses, blueberry, and pepper dominate with back notes of plum and graphite on the finish.
From the winery..
VINROC derives its name from our rock-strewn mountain vineyard, where the elevation provides the perfect climate; and our rock was hewn wine cave, where the consistent temperature & humidity is ideal for storing and aging our wine.
