Onward is a small project led by Faith Armstrong Foster who was born on a tiny island in British Columbia and had to take a boat, named the Onward, to school everyday. She caught the wine bug after accepting a position in wine marketing and sales, and well, after she enjoyed a harvest day, she was hooked. Before starting her own project, she worked at Frank Family Vineyards in Napa. Onward is her "natural approach to winemaking, honoring the history and authenticity of the grape and the vineyard site. The name and the label represent the essential philosophy of Faith’s winemaking. Passion. Care. Connection. Respect for the environment and the grape’s essence…it’s heart."

Sourced from an organically farmed vineyard in Redwood Valley planted to the Martini clone of Pinot Noir, which, by the way, are heritage vines planted in the 1970s and rarely found these days, the site is a source of naturally balanced farming to promote a slow, steady ripening. The result is a delicate, yet textured, fuller-bodied Pinot Noir, bursting with an array of vibrant aromas and flavors.

Notes of red cherries, cranberries, huckleberries and rhubarb with hints of violets, geraniums and dustings of forest floor, this Pinot really packs in a ton intrigue. Velvety tannins and a lovely full finish. Not one to miss!!
