Taking a cue from the South of France—tops when it comes to dry pink wines—this is one of the most refreshing and balanced domestic rosés to cross our paths in months. The wine is made primarily from estate-grown and Certified Organic Syrah from Elizabeth Rose’s famed Block House Vineyard in Yountville.

When combined with Grenache and a touch of Cinsault (also estate grown), the result is a Cote de Provence-like refresher packed with blood orange and pink grapefruit notes with a palate impression that is undeniably crisp and absolutely dry.

Best of all, this small-production pink wine (less than 300 cases made) is one of the most versatile wines our Tasting Panel can think of. A natural with seafoods of every stripe, this refreshing, newly released rosé really shows its stuff when paired with black olives, aioli and other assertive flavors of the South of France.

·    This rosé comes from 100% estate-grown fruit, primarily from the winery’s 450-acre Block House Vineyard in Yountville, with small amounts of Grenache and Cinsault sourced from Elizabeth Rose’s vines in Oakville.

·    Syrah from Block House makes up roughly two thirds of the blend. Like all the vines growing at Block House Vineyard, the Syrah is Certified Organic.

·    A long, slow, cold ferment (stretching out for an entire month) accounts for this bone-dry rosé’s lively, extremely fresh aromatics of wild strawberry and crisp watermelon.

·    Winemaker Jeff Onysko splits time between his duties at Elizabeth Rose and at the family’s two other Napa labels—Ghost Block and Oakville Winery.

From the winery:

This stylish rosé is elegant and lively with a watermelon hue to the color. On the nose; aromas of rhubarb and strawberry jump out of the glass. On palate, this medium-bodied wine exhibits notes of candied cherry and raspberry. A bone dry
Rosé while being extremely fruit-forward with a mouthwatering and crisp finish.
