Normally $25, we scored a lovely price on this Grenache! Drinking so well you might easily mistake it for a pricey Chateauneuf-du-Pape!
Load up on this luscious red! Grenache, the grape Chateauneuf is based on, can utterly SING in California when planted in the right place. This wine is 100% organic and biodynamic as well, and you can feel the energy Sara and Tyler Burt put into their wines. Such a deal!
Verveine produces small lots of handmade, single-vineyard wines from their biodynamic estate in Hopland, CA. In the winery, they use simple, traditional techniques to ensure that the wines are meaningful and personal. It’s a true “the wine is made in the vineyard” approach, and we are just loving it. The name comes from Verveine Citron, the French translation of lemon verbena, an aromatic herb long associated with love, magic and the supernatural. Clean crafted, sustainably grown fruit with no pesticides, additives, or chemicals, making them a healthier option for the wine drinker, and good for the environment.
Dusty black cherries, strawberries drizzled with balsamic glaze, wildflowers and herbs de Provence, with a purity and clarity that is seriously impressive in this price range. The palate is packed with more red berry fruit and cherry with hints of tobacco leaf and French tarragon. There is so much going on here for the money, this will surprise and delight, especially when you remember you only paid $13 for it! Just 219 cases were produced!
