Holy moly, Dominque Lafon, one of THE top winemakers in Burgundy, France even (!!), coming from the legendary Comtes Lafon producing fantastic White Burgundies from Mâconnais and Côte de Beaune, launched his négociant label to allow for a little personal experimentation. And boy are we sure to lucky to have the results of his “experiments”!

Beautifully delineated, minerally magical, citrusy acids with those classic stone fruit notes. It’s concentrated, light, but has a wonderful mid-palate and a long, superbly fresh finish. Truly sublime. White Burgundy for even non-Chardonnay lovers. Not to mention that while this may be labeled Bourgogne, the fruit is sourced from two select parcels in Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet from 20-50 year old vines on average! You’re not going to get anything better at $29 for White Burgundy from Dominque Lafon (!!). It’s just a fact.

Magnificent, $29, you need this wine in your life…while it lasts!

TASTING NOTES

Minerally with beautiful notes of vibrant citrus, classic stone fruit and white flowers. Vibrant acidity with a weighty mid-palate and long, refreshing finish.

THE STORY TO KNOW

Always searching for new challenges, Dominique Lafon started his own label - separate from the family domaine - in 2008 and currently works approximately 11 acres split between Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Volnay, and Beaune. Legally, he is considered a négociant but this is only because Dominique shares space with another winemaker. (Think of it as a custom crush facility, but in Burgundy.)
