This is the first vintage of this cuvée, as Pierre decided to vinify this climat separately to compare against Les Chetillons, a mere 500m away. The vines planted in 1955 are north-facing compared to Les Chetillons’s south facing, so maturation is later. This is fermented and aged in barrel with full malolactic fermentation and close to being zero dosage. A bit rounder, more open expression compared to Les Chetillons.

TASTING NOTES

The wine offers up superb aromatic complexity in its mix of apple, pear, limestone minerality, gentle smokiness and a nice touch of lemon zest in the upper register. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, still youthfully snappy and very mineral-driven, with a fine core, promising complexity and a very long, very young finish.
