I'm very particular when it comes to sparkling wines. Whether it's Champagne, Cava or Crémant, the wine needs a certain sleekness to go with its drinkability. Boisset delivers exactly that in his non-vintage No. 21., a sparkler that I'm happy to serve anytime.

The nose shows a bouquet of honeysuckle and dried green apples. On the palate, mouth-watering acidity has a beautiful balance with pear and apples, and an undertone of fresh bread. These bubbles deliver a glimpse into the world of Jean-Charles Boisset.

  • Bubbles of Burgundy. Did you know that one of the first sparkling wines of the world was made in Burgundy? That’s right! And Cremant de Bourgogne claims its title with soft, gentle fizz. This bright example by JCB is voluptuous and indulgent while showing everyone exactly what the perfect combination of freshness, fruitiness, and bubbliness is supposed to be.
  • Defining 21. Our Members familiar with the JCB collection, recognize the significance of numbers on the labels and 21 is a serious privilege. Born and raised in Cote d’Or, Jean-Charles has been shaped by the region in every way possible and this honored Sparkling is straight from the Gold Coast. He decided to label it No. 21 as a tribute to the French government’s number for Cote d’Or.

Wine Enthusiast calls it “a bone-dry, textured wine that is destined for food.” We can’t wait to pair its apple-lemon flavors and charming acidity with our festive feasts. Here Pinot Noir and Chardonnay show their very best. Pale, shiny yellow. A fresh, fruity nose with almond and white flower aromas. A full, generous mouth. Lovely harmony between freshness and fruit.

In 1961, Jean-Claude and Claudine Boisset, a young couple in the heart of Burgundy, France, embarked on a career in the wine trade.  Their first customers were friends of the family; the first wines were acquired from neighbors and childhood friends.  Three years later, they purchased their first vineyard plot - Les Evocelles in Gevrey-Chambertin.  Today, this parcel is a part of the Boisset family domaine, and the company bearing his family name has grown to be the leading wine producer in Burgundy, with a Franco-American collection of wineries on two continents, a presence in 80 countries, and collection of unique, indepenedent wineries and historical estates.

The second generation - Jean-Charles Boisset and his sister Nathalie - carry their parent's vision forward. After working for eight years to develop Boisset’s US business, Jean-Charles returned to France in 1999, where he and Nathalie developed and implemented the company’s evolving philosophy – from négociant-éleveur to viniculteur.  Together they united the family’s vineyards in the Côte-de-Nuits and Côte-de-Beaune under a single estate, Le Domaine de La Vougeraie, which showcases Boisset’s unyielding dedication to quality and provides a fitting legacy to their parents, Jean-Claude and Claudine.

Today, the Boisset Collection unites the old and new world's of wine with its Franco-American spirit and wineries on two continents. It is one of the world's leading family-owned luxury fine wine companies.
