For lovers of Napa Cab, and I know that’s most of you, this is a home run.  This wine retails for $96, but we wouldn’t dream of asking you to pay even half that.  Expect a big and lush Cab with plenty of juicy black and blue fruit, vanilla on the palate, a round and supple middle and dense, powerful tannins on the finish.  You are sure to please any fan of big reds with this bottle, and at this price you might want to grab a few for the cellar.  Drink now through 2025. - DZ Oct, 2014

When we gained this access, there was a roar that rivaled a Hail Mary.  Sourced from a high-profile Napa Valley producer whose oprerations recently closed, this is his Flagship Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon; a wine that takes this Grower's access to some of the very best fruit , combining it for one stunning wine.

A cellar-worthy selection earning love and affection from our Panel (96pt rated), with savings like this (and $0 shipping on 2+ bottles), it's hard to imagine any Cab lover not having this wine in their hands.

Organic farming consultant and vineyard manager Jeff Hill (who has been in charge of many vineyards behind Parker’s top-rated Napa Cabernets) started producing wine in 2008, making high-quality yet affordable bottlings with an environmentally-friendly attitude.

Jeff’s intimate knowledge of Napa’s most highly esteemed vineyard sources translates to outstanding quality in the glass: here’s an unbeatable value on an Ultra-Premium Napa Cabernet, which we’ve sourced exclusively for invino members.

Things to Know:

Environmentally conscious: at Jeff Hill winery all of the glass, paper and cardboard used are recycled, and the corks come from an organic forest.

Top sites: in a difficult vintage like 2011, having access to the BEST sites and the BEST fruit made all the difference. From being able to select the healthiest bunches from superbly farmed, organic Cabernet (Jeff Hill has been known for many years as a skilled and respected vineyard manager), to knowing the best parts of each vineyard in a given year, having close ties to the source is an advantage you can taste!

About this Lot:

"While we're sad to know there are no future vintages in our future of this standout wine, or any others from this producer, we're elated that we were able to secure the entire stock of Jeff’s Flagship and appelated wines - including all the Napa Cabs, at really outstanding prices; all for which we will be passing on to our members over the coming weeks and months.  Our panel had the pleasure of tasting through these wines and we can tell you with absolute certainty that this is by FAR the best deal we have ever been able to secure.  The wines are very diverse across the appellations, but all extremely well made and age worthy. (So forget about Sylk, Moon Mountain, Geyser Peak or Raymond.  These wines will represent the best values we have ever offered."
