A 95pt Rutherford Cabernet...for only $45? 55% off retail? Are we feeling ok? Well, thank you for asking, but yes, we're feeling GREAT! And epically excited to share this beautiful powerhouse of a Cabernet with our friends, because, you deserve it (really, you do).

Full-bodied, balanced, juicy fruit and those Rutherford dust tannins we know and love are the backbone to Chaix's estate-grown, 100% Cabernet. With neighbors like Joseph Phelps, George de Latour, Inglenook and Scarecrow, this practically perfect plot of land is in great company. The style is reminiscent of old-school offerings from BV, Heitz and Mayacamas. Think of it as a retro-style of Cabernet from present day that you will want, no you will NEED to have in your cellar because if we love our retro-Cabs, you know this lovely juice of the gods will age to tertiary perfection (and you'll want to wait to find out).

TASTING NOTES

Deep color, blackberry, blueberry, boysenberry and dusty mocha over dried rosemary and clove with a commanding grip and super-long, savory, toasty, licorice-filled finish.

THE STORY TO KNOW

The Chaix story started in the Napa Valley more than 110 years ago. Their goal as growers has remained consistent over the century – let the fruit reflect the essential elements of the land and the qualities of the growing season.

As vintners their philosophy is much the same -- handcraft Cabernet Sauvignon with grapes sourced exclusively from Chaix's historic estate.  The fruit informs and guides the winemaking process, capturing the flavors and characteristics for which Rutherford is internationally famous.
