“This wine comes from a 93-acre estate surrounding a 17th-century chateau. From a fine vintage, it is a solid, tannic-driven wine that needs time to soften. The ripe structure is powerful and dense, finishing with blackberry acidity. Drink from 2022.”

James Suckling, 92-93 points
“Dense and layered barrel sample offering plenty of ripe fruit, yet it remains linear and focused with a firm tannin profile that keeps the form of the wine now.”

“Coming from the team of Michel Rolland, the 2016 Château Cantin boasts a deep purple color as well as a sexy bouquet of ripe blueberries, violets, and new oak. It’s rounded and supple on the palate, with a plump, modern style that stays balanced, pure, and incredibly satisfying.”

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, 90 points
“Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cantin reveals an earthy nose of tar, truffles and tilled soil over a core of charcuterie, plum preserves, baked blackberries and dried herbs. Medium-bodied and with a lovely soft, rounded tannin texture, the palate gives plenty of savory flavors with a lively line and long black-fruited finish.”

Man, we are a bit breathless about this little parcel! Hailing from the world-class 2016 vintage in Bordeaux, this Right Bank Chateau is rarely seen here in the U.S. -- we direct-imported it just for you (and us!). What a price! We wish there were more than the 25 cases we could get…

The legendary consultant and world-hopping winemaker Michel Rolland is a part of this project, and we have to say, if you tend to like your Bordeaux on the somewhat richer, more powerful spectrum, THIS is your baby! It’s packed with dark fruit, cocoa, fresh-baked pie and mouthcoating frui...in fact, we’ll let the pros take it from here…

2016 is a vintage NOT to be missed, and this is just entering a perfect drinking window (or hold it for another few years!). Amazingly well-priced - won’t last long!
