Coeur de Vigne, which translates to “Heart of the Vine,” is an ode to the Sullivan Estate’s dedication to farming and their historic location in the heart of the Napa Valley. The property was founded in 1972 by James (“Jim”) O’Neil Sullivan, a visionary and pioneer of Rutherford who saw the potential of the region well before the Judgement of Paris. For nearly 50 years, artists, chefs, wine lovers and friends have gathered at the property, reveling in the stunning vineyards and lush gardens. It truly is full of heart and love for stunning wines, especially premier Napa reds.

With a bit of age on the 2013, it’s really starting to come into its own. The Rutherford dust tannins are still there, but settling nicely without being overpowering. Vibrant acidity perks up the voluptuousness of the wine and allows the bright bing cherries, raspberries and cassis to shine. Hints of mocha, sweet spice and minerals keep us coming back for more.

There’s lots to love here and at $49 (remember, 62% OFF!!), it’s a no-brainer, esp with complimentary shipping on 3+ bottles. Get it!

TASTING NOTES

Vibrant acidity perks up the voluptuousness of the wine and allows the bright bing cherries, raspberries and cassis to shine. Hints of mocha, sweet spice and minerals envelop the Rutherford dust tannins. Well structured with plenty of aging potential.

THE STORY TO KNOW

Situated in the heart of Napa Valley, Sullivan Rutherford Estate spans 26 acres of vineyards and lush gardens. For nearly fifty years the Estate has been an oasis for artists, chefs, friends and wine lovers, and to this day remains a destination for discerning travelers.

The Estate was founded in 1972 by James ("Jim") O’Neil Sullivan, a visionary and pioneer of Rutherford, a premier Napa Valley appellation for Cabernet Sauvignon. Today, the Estate continues to build on its legacy of growing and crafting world class Cabernet Sauvignon.

Led by entrepreneur Juan Pablo Torres Padilla, the small private partnership recognizes great potential for crafting exquisite wines and a gracious visitor experience. “We’re building upon the foundation laid by James O’Neil Sullivan, and the estate he created during his lifetime. His deep commitment to the vineyards and sophisticated winemaking practices present us with tremendous opportunity. We share his values of hard work, discipline, and the pursuit of excellence and I’m committed to making this estate one of the best in Rutherford, Napa Valley, and the world,” says Padilla.
