Another blockbuster find direct from Bordeaux! Free shipping on 3!
Our Bordeaux connection keeps turning up serious gems lately -- today? Margaux!! It’s rare to find well-priced (red: under $100!) wines from this sought-after appellation at all, but at $39??! Celebrate!
Chateau Tour de Laroze dates back to the 14th century. The property was one of the largest in Medoc, but was divided intro three separate properties during the French Revolution. The domaine was acquired by Hubert Perrodo in 1989 and is now run by his daughter, Nathalie Perrodo-Samani, who took over in 2006. The property is run by the same team as Chateau Labegorce, neighboring Chateau Margaux.
The 2014 is super-fine and is just hitting its stride, but it will also age for another 5-7 years easily, if you grab a few extra for the cellar. This is Margaux elegance personified - fresh, balanced, with hints of cassis, vanilla bean, fresh-baked pie crust, and sweet tobacco. Pure and almost Burgundian in its graceful presence in the mouth, this is long and pure as a Montana stream.
