Lush and fruit forward, this fantastic Pinot Noir from Jeff Hill is everything a good Napa Pinot should be.  The nose is ripe red fruit, warm spice and forest floor, with a hint of mint and cola.  The palate is loaded with blackberry, plum and boysenberry jelly, with tobacco, bramble and leather as the wine opens.  Well balanced a tasty stuff, this is an amazing value Pinot that will not disappoint.  The 2012 is even better than the 2011, showing richer fruit flavors and bigger mid-palate expression.  Enjoy now through 2019. - DZ Oct, 2014

Fresh off the heels of the HUGE success with the 2011 vintage of this same wine, we're thinking this new release, 2012, may be another off-the-charts Member favorite. The 2012 harvest in Carneros was described as "the dream vintage," and the resulting wines have been lauded for their impeccable quality. We found this one nothing short of amazing (and that was before we knew of the member pricetag!

Reasons We Love It:

Craving Carneros.
We believe that the tiny, windswept Carneros region is the best spot outside of Burgundy to create Pinot Noir of complexity and distinction. It’s a relative newcomer, compared to some other regions, with a viticultural history that only stretches back to about 1942—and it only received its AVA designation in 1983. But in that time the producers here have attained worldwide recognition for Pinot Noir and other Burgundian varietals that handily compete with the best-loved wines in history.

The Best Fruit
The Winery operates as a negociant as well as was one of the biggest vineyard managers in Napa. With this special insiders' access, the winery enjoyed the unique position of not only workign with an array of  the best Napa Valley vineyards, but also being able to their hands on the fruit first.

Sip, Swirl, Savor.
The wine greets the nose with fresh violets and dark cherry aromas that lead to layers of blueberry, cinnamon spice and a hint of earth on the palate.

Raspberry and black cherry aromas and flavors enhanced with hints of smoke and exotic spice. It is medium-bodied with bright acidity and a broad richness of even-tempered tannin, with a nice finish.

The Jeff Hill label features ultra premium Pinot Noir from Carneros and Cabernet Sauvignon from prime vineyards in Diamond Mountain, Howell Mountain and more.

Hill is making great use of their lovely nine-acre parcel, complete with a vibrant rolling lawn, olive-tree shaded picnic grove, lush fruit trees and lovely flower beds all nestled alongside the Napa River. The centerpiece of the estate is a gorgeous custom built craftsmanstyle home, used by the previous owners as their primary home for 12 years and now as the Hill Wine Company visitor center and tasting room.
