Frisson Cabernet Sauvignon 2-PackSonoma 2019 and Napa 2018

After a visit to Napa Valley, Terry Davis decided he wanted to be part of the makeup of the valley itself. With some friends, they bought three tons of grapes and decided to start Frisson. He found a partner who invested and then found Wayne Donaldson and Paul Colantuoni to make the wine. For you today, we have two vintages of Frisson at 60% off – one from Napa and one from Sonoma. The fruits of the Donaldson-Colantuoni-Davis crew is yours for the drinking!

Frisson is French for “sudden thrill or excitement.” It kind of sums up the founding of Frisson Wines, doesn’t it? Serendipity and curiosity are what brought these gentlemen together to make great wine from two of the greatest terroirs in the United States – nay, the world! 

The 2019 Sonoma Cabernet has been described as “an essence of ripe fruits, plum jam, blueberry, black cherry, and sweet spices. On the palate, the wine has a smooth and velvety texture with flavors of red fruits, bramble, thyme, and milk chocolate. The wine’s flavors linger gracefully, providing a long finish that leaves a lasting impression,” and then given a 91-point score. 

The 2018 is full, deep and luscious, packed with black plums and brambly wild blackberry, wet earth and toasty cigar box/Christmas spices. Just delicious and drinking WAY over our price. Amazing!
