Susie Bynum is the daughter of Russian River and Sonoma legend, Davis Bynum. He is one of the pioneers of world-class chardonnay and pinot noir for Sonoma, and Susie is making good on the family name – crafting excellent, classic styles of Sonoma Coast wines… at some of the best prices imaginable! Only $14.95 for a stunning, rich, and smooth Sonoma Coast chardonnay like this is a treat!

Davis Bynum checked off a couple of milestone firsts for Sonoma. He was the first to build a winery on what would become Russian River’s Rodeo Drive – the iconic Westside Road. He made the first single-vineyard designated pinot noir in RRV history – a common sight these days. And, he was the first vintner to make wine from the legendary Rochioli Vineyard. Susie grew up with all of this going on, often joining her dad on vineyard walks, and assisting him in the cellar throughout her formative years. A few years after he sold the family winery to Rodney Strong Vineyards in 2007, Susie started her own project, to keep the family name alive.

Today, she stands as the third generation Bynum vintner, with her two children already lending a hand to the winery and securing the future. Her son, Chris, serves as the winemaker – and he’s crafted a remarkably well-valued Sonoma Coast chardonnay that is as classic as it is delicious. Aromas of lanolin and crisp pear, speckled with accents of golden apple, brown butter, and toasted hazelnuts give this wine considerable depth, but the bright, salty acidity keeps everything fresh, well-integrated, and interesting. Drink this up on the regular, who doesn’t need more easy-drinking, rich but fresh, classically smooth Sonoma Coast chardonnay for less than $15?! Get ‘em while we got ‘em!
