SPECIAL: GROUND SHIPPING INCLUDED ON ORDERS OF 4 BOTTLES OR MORE!

Walter Schug is a Napa and Sonoma legend whose western Los Carneros winery has produced exceptional wines since 1980. This classic Sonoma Coast pinot noir is typically only made available to club members – but we scored a deal to bring it to you for less than $30! Over 50% off on micro-production, enviously pedigreed pinot such as this is a rare treat – so grab more than you think!

This 2019 Sonoma Coast pinot noir is utterly classic – cool, smooth, bright, and loaded with red berry and cherry fruits. The fruit is primarily sourced from Petaluma Gap and west of their Carneros estate – giving that perfect balance of cool, oceanic influence and ample sunshine to develop fully ripe flavors. Bright raspberries and black cherries lead the way, with some rose petals, some Earl Grey tea, with a hint of cola, and some spice accents like clove and cinnamon. The wine is stylish and velvety, a harmony between elegance and structure that is sipping incredibly now, with the stamina to develop further still over the next five to seven years. Tasty, serious, and seriously fun stuff that we are simply thrilled to have at the amazing price of only $27.95! Grab a couple now and you’ll be rushing back for more!

Walter Schug really should be more famous...not only has he been a Sonoma mainstay for over forty years, but prior to that, he crafted the very first Joseph Phelps Insignia (scoring a solid 99 points from Parker, no less). He also ran vineyard management and grower relations for E.J. Gallo for years, giving him access and relationships to some of the top growers throughout California. Finally, after founding his Carneros winery in 1980, Walter became a major player in the creation of the Los Carneros AVA (one of the first for Napa Valley too)! So yeah… a rather accomplished gentleman who was born and raised in Germany (from a family of winemakers with access to some of Germany’s most historic and ancient vineyards). Sadly, Walter passed in 2015, but his hand-picked protege – and fellow German wunderkind – Johannes Scheid carries on the tradition to this day. This is a tremendous wine that beautifully embodies the spirit of a California legend…at a price that is simply too good to miss!!!
