Paso Robles is a Central Coast California hotspot for Bordeaux varietals. A bit further inland than much of the Central Coast, warmer days get things ripe and full-bodied, but cool evenings maintain freshness and acidity – not unlike Napa Valley...but for far less $$$! Midnight Cellars is one of the pioneers of this young region, and still among our very favorites. This 91 POINT 100% malbec is just classic – juicy, ripe, and powerful – enough to stain your tongue and make your heart flutter with unabashed joy!

The Midnight Cellars’ story is a classic “why not” tale – when the Hartenberger family trip to the Napa wine country planted a seed in their minds… why shouldn’t we do this?! Years later, the patriarch retired from his gig as a patent attorney, and called his son..."Are you in?” was all he said, and welp, the rest is history!

The malbec just gushes in the glass – exotic berries, supple cherries, and creamy chocolate undertones with soft and delicate notes of roasted herbs, warm baking spices, and vanilla and mocha tones, this is a regal hug of velvety and silky-smooth deliciousness. All French oak, one-third of which is brand spanking new, for 30 months gives this a layered and sensual aspect. It’s rich and hedonistic, but softly spoken…this beauty simply purrrrrrrs at this amazing price. Grab a few before they’re gone, and you won’t regret it!
