93 point Sonoma pinot noir – at the increasingly rare under $30 price point...this is a winner! This Hidden Track wine is the newest venture from Laura and Kyle Gabriel – the folks behind the cult hit, Paper Planes. This is only the second vintage of Hidden Track, and it seriously over-delivers!

The wine bursts out of the glass with crushed raspberries and bright cherry sensations, with a twist of orange peel, and a lemony, pine scent. Hibiscus tea, bay laurel, and Chinese five spice round out the finish of this 30% whole cluster, all neutral barrel-aged, lip-smacking delicious pinot noir. The wine is impeccably balanced and soft enough to pop-n-pour tonight…I’ve been sipping on these beauties all summer and y’all need to catch up!

Laura is a Napa native, having lived in the valley growing up before heading to the East Coast for film school. There, she met Kyle, and a fast bond over great food and wine was born. After years of working in the film industry based in L.A., they started a little wine-making project called Paper Planes – making a total of 186 cases in 2014. Kyle, a longtime home brewer, turned his fermentation knowledge towards grapes and had a natural skill for it. The wine became a surprise hit, and they were hooked – packing up their things and returning to wine country to reestablish old connections and dive headlong into the wine business. This Hidden Track pinot is an utter classic – compelling, cool-climate, and ultra-elegant expression of Sonoma Coast pinot noir. A tremendous value for the quality and one all lovers of pinot noir should get behind…while it lasts, of course!

93 Wine Enthusiast -
Exuberant raspberry and red cherry aromas precede a lively, tangy palate in this medium-bodied, well-balanced and charming wine. Light tannins, snappy acidity and some complexity via black tea and pine nuances add nicely to the wine's considerable appeal. Made with 30% whole clusters and aged in all neutral barrels, so there's little obvious oaky character.
