If Decanter’s World Wine Awards – and their panel of top winemakers, industry veterans, and renowned critics tasted this BLIND and gave it a whopping 97 POINTS – and we can share it with you for less than $25 a bottle… we kind of have to do it, right? This Saint-Estèphe wonder may sound like sorcery, but we assure you, it’s not. It’s what we like to call Invino Magic – the mysterious ways in which we bring you the world’s best juice for the world’s greatest price! The pedigree here is exceptional and this drinks like a Bordeaux you’d find elsewhere at 3 or 4 times this price!

Château La Haye has been planted to grape vines as far back as 1557, and passed down through a single family for over 370 years! Somehow, it has remained delightfully under the radar, with Vinous calling it “one of the appellation’s hidden gems.” We’d love for it to stay that way but then you wouldn’t have the chance to try it! This stellar example of expressive and elegant winemaking can be attributed to legendary winemaker Eric Boissenot. Decanter called him “one of the most influential figures in Bordeaux”… who just so happens to be the consulting winemaker for FOUR of Bordeaux’s First Growth Châteaus – Lafite Rothschild, Latour, Margaux, and Mouton Rothschild. You know of all these Bordeaux greats, of course – they’re legendary for a reason. But you should also know Château La Haye in St. Estephe, one of the oldest estates in the region.

This blend of 50% cabernet, 45% merlot, and 5% petit verdot drinks several TIERS above its price point. Easy to do when you’ve acquired Cru Bourgeois status in Bordeaux – a 1932 classification that brought in the top estates outside of the original 1855 classification. Top it all off with the amazing growing season of 2018, and this just might be the greatest dollar-for-dollar value to come out of Bordeaux in quite some time. Floral notes of violets lead into bright red fruits like raspberries, cherries, and red currants, with accents of minty freshness, cigar box, and toasted peppercorns. The weight is medium plus, with an uplifting acidity that makes this both perfect with food, and suitable for a long cellaring! Simply a stellar example of Bordeaux wine with excellent heritage, modern prestige, and a truly head-turning price! You would be wise to load up on this – a top Bordeaux for a song!

Inviting nose with a subtle fragrance of rhubarb, ripe black fruit, baking spices and touches of chocolate. Peppery on the palate, with a lively acidity and very ripe tannins. It has a wealth of concentration.
