The Cagliero estate is a striking property in the heart of Barolo that produces tiny amounts of the region’s best – from Barolo to Barbaresco, with Barbera, Langhe, and everything in between. This is their simply delicious, bright, fun, fruity, and fresh Moscato d’Asti called “Euforia”! It certainly lives up to the name – for $12.95 this is a no-brainer! Grab more than you think...you won’t regret it!

Produced solely in the hills of southern Piemonte, in the Castagnole delle Lanze region, this Moscato d'Asti takes moscato bianco grapes and transforms them into pure ambrosia. Careful vinification aids in keeping the rich, delicate aromas that are so uniquely moscato intact – yielding fruit flavors that range from yellow peaches and apricots to quince and mandarin oranges, with elderflower, jasmine, wisteria, and the simply indescribable muscat note. The wine is sweet, without being cloying – just so fresh, vibrant, and pure –  round and creamy with an uplifting effervescence.

These wines have been made in Asti for centuries, and the best of them (like this) are actually quite serious wines that nevertheless know how to please a crowd. At low alcohol, with bright acidity, this is a wine you can sip all day long – especially at our fantastic price! Nearly 50% off?! Get a bunch and thank us later!

About the Producer

The Azienda Agricola Cagliero grows the best of Piedmontese grapes, from which the most prestigious red wines are produced. The estate is a tiny 6 hectares in the heart of Barolo growing Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Freisa, Arneis, Favorita and Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyards are contiguous (a rarity in this are) and are excellently situated on gently-sloping hillsides, either south or south-east facing and at an average altitude of 300 meters above sea level. The soil type is mixed marl with sand and clay. The property includes the Ravera and Terlo crus. No new wood is ever employed as they are traditionalists to the core, always respecting the tradition of his family, making the wines as his great, great grandmother made the wines. Tiny production and an absolute gem of a winery.
