Yount Ridge Proprietary Red Blend Napa Valley 2019

Cabernet based (68%), with the remaining a mix of Bordeaux varietals (petite verdot, syrah, etc), and there were scant few barrels made! The mind spins, hiccups, reels. As many of you good people know, Yount Ridge closed up shop some years ago and they were simply stunning wines made almost entirely by Celia Welch (yup, THAT Celia). Our master-blended ‘19 is ALL THAT, a bag of chips and a Ferrari-powered beast, with truffle shavings on top. Staggering price, of course. 

NOT FOR THE SHY AND RETIRING TYPE. We’re talking rip-snorting deep, dark, intense and concentrated, with bell-ringing wild blackberries, deep cocoa powder and wildly awesome perfumey purple flowers, espresso, tobacco, spearmint, savory notes, cigar box….HEADY, hedonistic, with some grip, AND, with this vintage being the beast that it is, probably the longest-lived of these wines yet, and that’s saying a lot…the 2009 we drank last month tastes like it’s 2 years old!! We’re talking AGELESS prop. red in the world-class style you know and love, whoop whoop, hold on people!! 

As noted, the property is (was) located next to Cardinale, across from Harlan and Bond, and near the Morlet Family owned and prized Coeur de Vallée Vineyard, among others - Opus One, To Kalon, Vine Hill, and many more. SERIOUS STUFF and wicked-limited today….good luck!!
