What a way to go! The Paul Hobbs-made Landy wines shuttered their doors in 2020 after nearly two decades. But they went out with a series of beautiful wines – including this rich, layered chardonnay from vineyards one ridge over from the Pacific Ocean, in the cool climate of the Sonoma Coast next to Rochioli. We got everything we could, to be able to share with you at an astounding 62% OFF!

Planted on the lower elevations of the estate, this chardonnay is rich and opulent in both fruit and toasty oak, with bright acidity providing balance and tension to the flavors of green apple, lemon curd, salted toffee, Tahitian vanilla, and pear tarte tatin. This is a perfect example of when to decant a young white wine, to allow this multifaceted chardonnay to express itself and its full nuance and complexity. For the absolutely stellar price…lovers of classically heady, luxurious Cali-chard needs to jump all over this!

Southern California natives Jim and Christina Landy didn’t know much when they got into the wine business in 2002…they loved wine, and felt that northern Sonoma, just outside of Healdsburg, was the perfect place to raise their family. But with Jim’s experience as a CEO for a number of different companies, he knew how to find talent. Enter… Paul Hobbs. Brought in early as their winemaker, he was tempted by the prospect of a partner who trusted him completely. At Paul’s recommendation, the vineyards were entrusted to the legendary Ulises Valdez, who re-planted the property and farmed the vineyard prior to his death in 2018. The vineyard stands west of Healdsburg, in the northernmost section of the Russian River and Sonoma Coast AVA’s, just next door to the iconic Rochioli vineyard. This is the last vintage of Landy’s chardonnay, so grab some while you can!
