Erikson & Caradin Proprietary Red Archer & Thorn Napa Valley 2019
Proprietary Blends | US
93-point proprietary reds from Napa that are under $30? Those are pretty rare, even for us…but tack on a rockstar winemaker whose resume includes Chateau Petrus… and a mind-melting 66% OFF the retail?!?! What madness is this?
After his stint in Bordeaux at the incomparable Chateau Petrus, winemaker Kevin Morrissey continued honing his craft in Napa Valley, with primo stints at Stags’ Leap, Etude (with his mentor Tony Soter), and Ehlers Estate. That’s the kind of resume that caused Robert Parker to call him a “tour de force in the Napa Valley” and “a master of his craft.” Now, at the helm of a new project, Erikson & Caradin, Kevin is creating some of his best wines yet! We performed some magic of our own and can now offer it to you for the unbeatable price of $30. Did we mention the winery sells it for $90? SIXTY DOLLARS OFF?!? That’s how we do!
This 68% cabernet, 22% merlot, and 10% petite sirah blend is deeply concentrated, elegantly perfumed, and ethereally flavored deliciousness. Expect roasted plum tarts, shaved black truffles, toasted hazelnuts, and spicy black pepper. The tannins are voluptuous yet silky, culminating in an effortlessly balanced and harmonious finish. Don’t want to miss this…while it lasts!!!
