La Flor is Pulenta’s home for their “young” wines. Newer vineyard plantings, with less time in barrel and a lower concentration of new oak, these wines are perfect for drinking early and often.
Fresh and floral, with delicate red fruits and mouth-watering blue fruits the wine deftly integrates oak as a texturally rounding element and not a domineering flavor profile. This medium weighted wine showcases the century plus of experience Argentina’s first family of wine brings to the table, yet with a modern approach and recognition of how the vast majority of wine is enjoyed today. Load up on this and have on hand for your Tuesday night meatloaf and Sunday grill and chills.

About the Producer
The Pulenta family have been a prominent family in Argentinian winemaking for four generations. The Pulenta estate was founded in 2002 but the history of the family dates back to the 1930's with Bodega Penaflor. The winery is very proud of its history and their mission is create a series of great wines that proudly represent Argentina wines.
As blends seem to be more popular, there is now also a red blend in the young and affordable range. The 2018 La Flor Blend is composed of 45% Malbec, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot from Agrelo. It fermented with selected yeast and half of the volume matured in used barriques for three to six months. It's a very showy blend, and winemaker Javier Lo Forte, Pulenta's winemaker, explained that they use some Merlot from wines that tend to go into an upper range, which seems to lift up this wine. The style and profile of their wines is quite expressive of the vineyards in Agrelo. There are notes of strawberries and violets, clean and harmonious. It has a medium-bodied palate with tasty and focused flavors, long and with very good freshness. 2019 was in general a better vintage that 2018, but some wines from 2018 show especially well, and this is one of them. 36,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2019.
