Waypoint Chardonnay Hudson Vineyard 2016

Chardonnay  |  US

Ground shipping included on orders of 6 bottles or more!

The name Waypoint refers to the intersection of longitude and latitude on a GPS. As such, Waypoint wines are always single-vineyard, single-varietal expressions of a grape, a time and a place. This 2016 vintage was crafted by multiple 100 point receiving winemaker, Tim Milos. When paired with eminent Carneros grower, Lee Hudson, that is a one-two punch that commands your attention!

Now, a perfectly aged wine six years from its harvest, this chardonnay is showcasing what the best in California can do over time. Opulent, creamy and exceedingly rich in its youth, time has tamed this unbridled chardonnay to reveal an even greater complexity. The perfectly ripe stone fruits and tangy Meyer lemon remain, now accentuated with further notes of nutty hazelnuts, slow-roasted quince, lemon meringue, green cardamom, clove and toasted brioche. It is full throttle California chardonnay that pleases upfront, but continues to allure and surprise you as it develops in the glass. Give it a quick decant, drink over a few hours and you’ll be kicking yourself for not buying more! Six bottles drops the price even further… definitely the right play with this beauty.

About the Producer

The name Waypoint refers to the intersection of longitude and latitude on a GPS, so Waypoint wines are always single-vineyard, single-varietal expressions of a singular terroir. Today's wine tells a story of one of the true gems of Oakville, perched on a plateau of the famous red dirt just below Pritchard Hill with neighboring vineyards like Dalla Valle, Peter Michael's Au Paradis, Phelps' Backus, Tor's Tierra Roja and Turnbull's Leopoldina (also known as Weitz).
