La Negly is pretty legendary. Super-consultant Claude Gros is just some of the rockstar talent behind this southern France rockstar, and it’s pretty rare to even see it in the USA. We packed a bit of the terrific rosé in with our last container and MAN, it’s good!
Fresh and lip-smacking, with fascinating complexity for a rosé — it’s 100% malbec, with tiers of roses, tart cherry, a touch of red licorice, mint, and a super-fresh, juicy, wonderful length. Truly over-delivers in a big way...even at the old $20 price! We’d challenge you to put it up against plenty of the bigger names, but why bother? About the Producer
The Chateau de la Negly is located in the Languedoc, overlooking the Mediterranean, in the exceptional terroir of La Clape. The original Negly vineyard spanned 123 acres on clay limestone soils which gives Negly its signature palate impact and broad shoulders. In 2006 they acquired the neighboring 62 acres on alluvial sand and sandstone soils which were replanted and now is farmed sustainably and by hand. Consultant Claude Gros has further refined the work in the cellar; it's not a mystery why La Negly is the top of the class in Southern France.
