“Beautiful red and black fruits, graphite, roasted herbs, and licorice notes emerge from the 2019 Languedoc Pech Cabrio. Medium to full-bodied, it has a ripe, concentrated texture, building tannins, and a great finish. It's going to benefit from a handful of years in the cellar and should see its 10th birthday in fine form. It's certainly an outstanding wine.” – Jeb Dunnuck

Really, Jeb’s review says it all. This is a fantastic, and consistent, over-delivering wine from a Chateau that goes back for centuries. This historic site has evidence of grape cultivation predating the 7th century, and likely far longer still. For generations now, the estate has been run by the Ribet family, with viticulture managed by the esteemed Paux-Rosset family – the very same that has guided Chateau Negly to become one of the most respected wine producers in all of France. Super-consultant Claude Gros steers the course of the winemaking – ensuring that this relatively unknown winery has a pedigree that far surpasses virtually any UNDER $15 wine anywhere in the world. Simply tremendous stuff that shouldn’t be missed!

This is a rich, beautifully made Languedoc red that is so amazingly priced, you could drink it almost every night (we are!). Ripe, full-bodied, creamy, and bursting with dark berry fruits and spice, this wine has such myriad characteristics to enjoy. This is the platonic ideal of buy-a-case wine - a tantalizing deal, ready to drink, with enough structure and intensity to keep drinking over the next decade...and it’s absolutely amazing with food. Truly, everything you could want and then some, for the utterly ludicrous price of UNDER $15 a bottle. Get it while it lasts - we promise you won’t regret it!

About the Producer

Jean-Marc Ribet takes passion and pride in his work on the Estate. Today, Chateau La Vernede is a modern and competitive business with its focus firmly fixed on the future. It is the result of a passion that has been passed down through the generations for over 100 years.
