Villa a Sesta Chianti Superiore Ripatella 2018

It is hard not to fall deeply in love with Chianti - the rolling hills, endless sunsets, and insanely great wines, now more than ever. This is one of our faves, a wine to drink ALL the time at this crazy price!

Villa a Sesta is a gorgeous, ancient village (population 12!!) of Etruscan origins set into the hills of Siena and a serious up-and-comer in the world of fine Chianti and still relatively undiscovered. This ancient and picturesque hamlet lies on the Chianti provincial road between San Gusmè and the Castello di Brolio, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga. Side note for food lovers: considering the size of the village, it notably has not one, but two Michelin starred restaurants (order the truffle ravioli!).

Sunshine, red berries, dried cherries, fresh, juicy RIPE cherries, purple-skinned fruits, whiffs of flowers and spice, cigar box, earth and sweet herbs...medium bodied, but flavor-packed. Simply ASTONISHINGLY good. What else can we say? Get as much as you can!
