Just in, the 2019 version of this wine is Wine Spectator's #49 wine of 2022! We’ve been importing this directly for years, from the moment we tasted it we know we had to get as much as we could. The winery concentrates on various single-vineyard expressions of the aglianico grape, and possesses some of the oldest and most important cru vineyards on the volcano, benefitting from impeccable exposure and high elevation, as well as mineral rich volcanic soils. Tucked into the heart of the Basilicata region, their entry level wine is a blend of the fruit left over from the sorting table that make the estate's single vineyard bottlings, and has been hailed as one of the best quality-for-price aglianico available. We agree, the taste-per-dollar here is through the roof! Grab a 6-pack and drink this with all types of meaty fare, like rack of lamb or roasted rabbit.

Utterly delicious, as always, with so much crunchy red fruit, ultra-fresh with red cherry and red raspberry, pomegranate, and lightly toasted spices, wonderful length and structure too...just fantastic! Get it while it’s here!

90 Wine Spectator -
A fragrant skein of herb and spice winds through the flavors of dried cherry and strawberry fruit in this tightly knit, medium- to full-bodied red. Bright and firm, with taut tannins and a hint of ashy mineral on the finish. Best from 2022 through 2027. 7,000 cases made, 2,500 cases imported.
90 Wine Enthusiast -
Well concentrated aromas of black raspberry, pomegranate, violet and freshly turned earth carry the nose of this rustic red. It's light in profile, with zesty berry flavors wrapped in mildly gritty tannins. There's charm to be had among the delightful mix of juicy fruit and earthy tones. Enjoy at the dinner table alongside lamb or venison.
