Champagne Paul Bara Grand Cru Extra Brut NV
Proprietary Blends | France
Impossible to find the in the states, Paul Bara’s super rare extra brut bottling is a real vinous treasure usually gobbled up by Parisian bistros. We scored a super small parcel and the wine is simply brilliant. From the grand cru village of Bouzy, this small production “grower Champagne” is on the top of collectors lists when it comes to high-end Champagne.
Warm and spicy/toasty aromas meet poached pear and dried flower aromas. This has all the warmth and forward fruited character of Bouzy pinot noir, with the mineral cut and freshness provided by the 20% of chardonnay in the blend. It’s ample and gloriously creamy in the mouth with plenty of orchard fruit, spice and everything nice. This is exceptional Champagne from start to finish... Don't miss!
About the Producer
The Bara property was built in 1860 in the Grand Cru village, Bouzy. Starting in 1965, the property which was once a working farm was transformed into a winery. Paul Bara, the father of today's owner Chantale, was the first of the dynasty to sell champagne under the brand of the same name in the 1950s. Bara was one of the first to export its champagnes to the United States and has become one of the most popular grower Champagnes in the states. Nowadays Paul Bara champagnes are sold on all continents of the world and remain one of the premiere pinot noir Champagne specialists in the entire world.
