Chateau Haut-Domingue Bordeaux Blanc 2020
Sauvignon Blanc | France
Sometimes, a sample sent by the winery direct to us does actually blow us away. When we heard the price, we bought every last drop of this unbelievable bargain and direct-imported, so it is now ready to be poured as your new house white, or at your grandson’s wedding. SO GOOD!
This was a new find for us in a large Bordeaux sample tasting, and it stood out in a group of much more expensive wines. Located in Entre-Deux-Mers in Bordeaux, this is a gem of a winery. Chateau Haut-Domingue is one of the oldest estates in the region, built around 1700, located not far from the feudal castle of Benauge. It's located on gravel and clay soils at 327 feet above sea level in the town of Arbis. The estate is 90 acres with an average vine age of 15 years.
Pure, laser-focused lemon/citrus, with a touch of delicious creaminess that might remind you of honeydew melon, it’s just immensely likeable, affable, friendly, zesty and fresh! For THIS price...what more could you want?!
