Giodo La Quinta Tuscany IGT 2019

Sangiovese Blends  |  Italy

DWWA96, JS94

Carlo Ferrini's personal project is on a roll right now coming a couple 100-point scores. He is undoubtably one of the most prolific winemakers in Tuscany, if not the world. He is a Sangiovese master whose wines are widely considered to be the purest, most exquisite expressions of the varietal on the market today, with countless top scoring examples of the grape. He has taken home Wine Enthusiast's top winemaking honor, earning "Winemaker of the Year" and has also been called an "Italian Master" by Decanter Magazine. We are blessed to have a few cases of the new “La Quinta” to sell...this equals or surpasses many top-level Brunello Riserva, to say the least!

We scooped up his 96-point Tuscan sensation and are offering it for what is the best price in the USA! In 2002, after scouring Italy, Carlo bought a 25-acre property in Montalcino between Sant’Angelo in Colle and Sant’Antimo and planted six acres of Sangiovese to 15 different clones. La Quinta is born from this same world-class site as his extremely pricy and hard-to-find Brunello (we have a couple of cases of 2011 in the store!) it just costs a whole lot less.

This is power, elegance and precision. The moment it hits your palate, you know you’re into something special. Incredibly long and complex, with such a wonderful texture. A MUST for cellaring, too - get enough to stash some for a few years at least!! This is a showstopper! 15 CASES and that’s it!

This is rich and perfumed on the nose with sweet-berry, rose-hip and sandalwood character. Full-bodied with a round, juicy palate of lots of ripe-berry and cedar undertones. Succulent and tangy at the end. Very enticing now. but will be even better in 2023.
