Bodegas Palacio Rioja Cosme Palacio Reserva 2015
Other Reds | Spain
Arguably Rioja’s first “modern-styled” Tempranillo wine, proprietor Cosme Palacio teamed up with super-consultant, Michel Rolland (Harlan, Bryant, and Ausone to name a few), in the late 80s to reinvent the brand, which dates back to 1899. It’s got all the no-holds-barred winemaking we love, with French oak (instead of American), a somewhat riper/richer style, and complex, layered flavors. YOU WILL LOVE IT! At this price, it’s a wild steal that crushes many a competitor, even in the $100+ category. $28??!!
Agreed! Blueberries, cigar box, flowers, and even a touch of mocha, too, to our palates, absolutely delicious and fine. Wow! Don’t forget free shipping on 4 or more! First come, first served…!
About the Producer
Based in Rioja Alavesa, Bodegas Palacios is historic winery producing wine since 1894. Fun fact: proprietor Cosme Palacio rented a winery rented in the Duero area to make wine when phylloxera devastated Rioja. That winery was the one and only Vega Sicilia and the winemaker who travelled there to oversee winemaking was Txomin Garramiola, a Riojan who settled in the region and laid the foundations of what today is the legendary Único.
