92 points from Wine Enthusiast to boot! That’s a whopping 6+ points per dollar (P.S. -- that’s good). We love the surprisingly potent notes of black currants, wild blueberries, cassis, intermingled with notes of sweet tobacco, chocolate, soft vanilla, and clove. Super easy to drink and have around for any and all occasions.

Chateau Le Doyenne is owned by Marie-Dominique and Jean Watrin, whose daughter, Lorraine, is known for her work as the technical director at The Chateau Montrose. They’ve all put in considerable efforts in rebuilding this historic property, which dates back to 1791. Michel Rolland was brought in to take the winery to a new level, and in the excellent 2018 vintage, this is one of the true sleepers of the season!! Having six of these on hand is never a bad idea… get some today!

92 Wine Enthusiast -
Cellar Selection: With oenologue Michel Rolland's team behind this estate, it is not surprising that this wine is rich while also structured and perfumed. Wood aging gives a final polish to a full, generous and ageworthy wine. Drink from 2023.
90 James Suckling -
This has a fruity nose of currants and blackberries. Some wet leaves, cloves and mushrooms, too. It’s medium-bodied with firm, fine tannins. Balanced and juicy. Better from 2022.
