Since 1984, Byron has been crafting site-specific Pinot Noir from pristine vineyards in the Santa Maria Valley and Sta. Rita Hills appellation. Winemaker Jonathan Nagy, whose tenure at Byron spans two decades, picks each row, block and parcel that has the most potential to express both the purity of the varietal as well as the site. Jonathan is a certified rockstar who has been a influential fixture in the Sta. Rita wine scene, and whose resume includes the likes of Bien Nacido Winery and Solomon Hills Winery, both owned by the Miller Family. His wines have consistently received high praise from all the major critics with literally too many scores to count between 90-97 point scores over the years.

La Encantada vineyard produces wines of depth, purity of site and varietal expression. Sharing a vineyard with people like Foxen, Tyler and Sirduri has helped to establish this great site as one of the top vineyards in Sta. Rita Hills. The wines always ooze dark fruit flavors, a slightly savory minerality and sea air quality with tremendous texture and length.
