Chateau Saint Jean d'Aumieres l'Alchimiste Terrasses du Larzac 2017
Proprietary Blends | France
The France container just landed with a few extra cases – if you got it last time, or missed it, TODAY is the day!! Dark, deep, rich, flowing with succulent red fruits, Saint Jean d’Aumieres seems like a vinous impossibility…so much wine for this price and scores too!!
Read on for the details, but know one thing: this deep, intense, and voluptuous red is going to sell out today! A group of Master Sommeliers, Masters of Wine, and other tasting experts from Decanter Magazine’s World Wine Awards agree - this is a must-have! Out of nearly 14,917 wines submitted for the awards, just 156 wines scored 96 points. To put this in context, other French wines to receive this honor include highly sought-after wines like Domaine de la Vougeraie Clos Vougeot Grand Cru and Louis Moreau Chablis Valmur Grand Cru! 96 points from the world's foremost wine experts at this price? You could easily spend 3x that for a Syrah/Grenache-based powerhouse from just north in Chateauneuf or Cote Rotie!
Just south of the Rhone valley, in the Languedoc, specifically the up-and-coming appellation of Terrasses du Larzac, some of the greatest wine values on earth are made. Just a few miles down the road from the “Lafite of the Languedoc”, Mas de Daumas Gassac, is in the prime cut of Terrasses du Larzac. Saint Jean sits on the Larzac plateau, with poor soils that develop incredibly concentrated grapes. Aged in only 30% new oak, it nevertheless FLOWS across the palate with rich, warm cherry fruit, strawberry compote, fresh fig, earth, licorice and spices. And the finish - mocha, figs, raspberry, vanilla bean...wow! We were incredibly lucky to snag a few cases of this, a wine mostly consumed in France by locals!
It’s astounding to have enough of this to sell -- don’t forget free shipping on 3!!
