Invino clients know how much we love and respect the wines of I VERONI - we’ve been selling and shouting their praises for years. The new release of Quona (100% from the tiny and much-coveted Rufina appellation), as is typical, drinks like something quite a bit more (Brunello di Montalcino??!), and just flows with warm berries, blue fruits, and a spicy, toasty note.
This will be the last of the ‘17 QUONA – don’t miss!
About the Producer
Lorenzo Mariani is the 4th generation of his family to manage the I Veroni estate. His grandfather, Umberto, began bottling and selling his pure Sangiovese wine in 1957. Lorenzo began his involvement with the winery almost 40 years later in 1996. With the assistance of enologist, Andrea Paoletti (Valdicava, Ornellaia, Tenuta Sette Ponti), Lorenzo replanted 20 hectares of vines and introduced organic viticulture, which was certified in 2013. Today, they are on a meteoric rise, with much critical acclaim and well-regarded as incredible values at their quality level.
Fragrant purple-flower, plum and baking-spice aromas lead the way. The linear palate shows finesse and energy, offering Marasca cherry, raspberry compote, tobacco and cinnamon framed in elegant fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. Hold for even more complexity. Drink through 2028.
