Thorn-Clarke James Goddard Shiraz Barossa 2018 - Invino

Thorn-Clarke James Goddard Shiraz Barossa 2018

Syrah Blends  |  Australia

Normally $26, today $16, with a 92-point score and free ground shipping on 4+! We sold a truck load of this the first time around, and have been fielding requests/emails/calls about re-upping for months. We bought the last parcel from one of our favorite importers. Note: the importer is owned by a legendary Master Sommelier, Fran Kysela. Needless to say we like his selections!

We loved this wine from Thorn-Clarke! It’s big and bold, yet has a sense of refinement and balance, as well - hits all our sweet spots, especially the price, right?!

Delicious, satisfying all-the-time drinking, at $16 with free ground shipping on 4 or more! We have just 25 cases to sell -- while it lasts!

About the Producer

Thorn-Clarke is a family- owned winery in Barossa, South Australia, and was founded by David and Cheryl Clarke. The name "Thorn-Clarke" represents the union between two families with deep roots in Barossa Valley. The Thorn family property, Clifton, is home to one of the oldest Shiraz vineyards in Australia and perhaps the world, with earliest records dating back to 1854!! The estate farms 675 acres across four vineyards with elevations ranging from 885 feet to 1540 feet above sea level. Today’s wine is sourced from two of their estate vineyards, St. Kitts and Milton Park. Deep purple, lifted and concentrated, it is plush and velvety with all the dark berry goodness and earthy nuance you could ever want from Aussie Shiraz.

Blended from two estate vineyards, St. Kitts and Milton Park, this shiraz offers its richness without any aggression or overt perfume. It’s just lush and delicious, a friendly embrace of firm tannins and purple-red fruit. The texture and flavor combine in a saturated meatiness, for Korean barbecue.
